Woody's tasting notes

Nose: Smoky yet sweet, marzipan and almond, liquorice, nuttiness with sweet malt

Palate: Big body, peat with sweet malt syrup, black treacle, winter spices, roasted nut and hints of marzipan

Finish: Dry, long oily finish with lingering peat.

Ed's review

Colour: Natural colour, deep amber or mahogany.

Nose: Maple-glazed smoked ham. Warm earthy peat. Lingonberry sauce. Oak timber in the rain.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel with a nice texture. Instant Laphroaig peat. Rich caramelised meat adds a savoury character, while macerated red berries bring sweetness. A little wood spice to season.

Finish: Medium finish with earthy smoke and a savoury finale.

Overall: Peat fans are going to love this big flavoursome whisky.
