WIRD 1996 Year Old Tasting Notes
Colour: Apple Juice
Nose: Rubbery funk, bouquet of roses, milk chocolate covered hazelnuts, extra juicy peaches with cream and honey, hard fruit candy, popcorn, vanilla fudge, toasted brioche with blackcurrant jam and lemon curd, plus fresh satin sheets and a stable full of hay.
On palate: Wonderfully buttery with mint chocolate chip ice cream, white vanilla chocolate fudge, lemon pie, champagne, hay, anise twists, clove balls, clove, liquorice stick, freshly printed magazine covers and herbal notes. It's like an exotic whiskey!
Finish: Good spicy length with vanilla caramel and cinnamon pastries dipped in spicy hot chocolate.
Overall: Funk, spice and all things pleasant, a beautifully balanced whole that will also appeal to lovers of old grains and exotic Whisky.
