Tasting Notes: This blanton's black edition bourbon opens with a mellow nose that reveals earthy notes and herbaceous hints of pine. This complex aroma is further enriched with layers of juniper, cherries, apples, blueberries, rich vanilla, and honey. On the palate, it offers herbaceous flavors with pine, butter, honey, pepper, and chocolate. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving behind undertones of white oak and toffee.
History: Established in 1984 under the expertise of Elmer T. Lee, Master Distiller at the George T. Stagg Distillery, now the renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery, this bourbon has a storied past. It was developed in collaboration with Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton, who served as President of the Distillery from 1921-1951. His preference for bottles aged in the unique metal-clad Warehouse H, known for its temperature fluctuations, led to the unique aging process that defines this bourbon. Limited in production and highly sought-after, this blanton's black edition bourbon is a testament to quality and craftsmanship. In 1999, the addition of unique horse stoppers that spell out "B-L-A-N-T-O-N'-S" further cemented its iconic status. International versions are sold in 700 ml bottles, while domestic releases are 750 ml.
